42 days in six weeks....

Thinking back through the last six weeks is really a reflection of what really matters to me in my life. I feel more focused than I ever have on my schooling, not to let the daily happenings of life to get in the way. First and foremost the life that I take care of and then school comes into play. So, what I can say is that my daughter and school are the two most important things in my life. I am on an unsteady bridge with her father and it has been that way for at least 4 of the the 6 weeks that we are speaking of. This sometimes makes it hard for me to focus on the things that matter, but with a little perseverance I keep pushing through. So, this is my dealings of these days, but you have to break on through to make it to the other side as the great Doors once sang.

Influence.....

I sometimes get worried about how school could be a waist of time with so many on the job training options these days, what are you to do. It is always good to come to perspective and know that educating yourself will make for a better you. The mention of  $30,000's in student loans is a killer as well it is very overwhelming, but then I think of my daughter and how much better of a life I will be making for her in the end. Hopefully the need for health and wellness coordinators will be on the rise by the time I get out of school and I can land a good job that I can put all of my knowledge and skills forth. It is scary for me to foot a bill of 30,000 when I am not even doing what was learned during my schooling process.
So, I guess in all I would have to say that school does not influence me.... It is the life that I have to make for myself and my daughter that is the most influential.

Keeping it in Your Words....

It is hard for me to imagine the theft of others ideas or words. I find that plagerism is something that is dissapointing on both ends of the spectrum. Although it is sometimes hard to put words down on paper without partially taking information from the author, you should at least give the author the recognition for their work.
When writing, it is easiest for me to write down what I am thinking and then read it outloud. By reading it outloud I hear what had been wrote and decide if it makes sense or not. It is also good to remember that there is always room for improvement, do not ever go with your first idea. Unless of course if it is a super fantastic idea that you cant live with changing ;). Stealing ideas from others is in a way hurting yourself, mostly because you have not taken the time to learn the material. I think it is good to exercise your mind to gain more knowledge and it will help for a better paper if you know what you are talking about.

Online Learning

As I had posted earlier, the convenience of online learning helps when you are a full time working mother. Or, I am sure in other instances it would be convenient as well. It is unfortunate that I can not meet any of my fellow classmates, but this is what goes with online learning.
This works for me because I already do not get enough time with my family, and I can spend time with them while doing my course work. It is sometimes hard to juggle all of the things on my plate, but with time management I give my self so much time for each thing that I need to do throughout the day. I usually like to spend about 2-3 hours on my course work a day. It is usual that you will find me with my head in a book or typing on a laptop at work during my breaks and lunch hour.

What a Recession??

So, it is apparent that we are in a recession. As I see the bills stack up and no money in my bank account to pay them, it is now clear to me what a recession really is. But wait, I am confused as to why the cost of everything keeps going up? You would think that, maybe, considering the recession, companies would start to lower their prices so that "we" as consumers could dig into our already empty pockets to buy something.

It saddens me of the global world to keep wanting more-more money, more possessions- everything has to be bigger and better than what your neighbor has. I say, take a step back and realize what you already have. I may not have much, but what I do have is more important than any possession will ever be. I have the smile, giggles, and snuggles of my daughter that will outlast any recession. I have the kiss of my love in the morning that makes any money troubles seem like it is non-existent. I have the beauty that surrounds me that I find in every color of nature. This is what will outlast any recession, and these are all things that will withstand the curve balls of life.

A Simple Hello....

It seems as though the virtual world is becoming a replacement for the interaction of human beings. Even though I find it very convenient to join an online learning class, it is sometimes almost upsetting that I cannot actually meet the great minds that I am interacting with.
In anywhich way, I would like to say hello to each and everyone of you with a handshake of the virtual world.
